Home Visits: “We’re all in this together”

In the time it takes a doctor to do an average home visit,  6 patients can be seen in the Surgery. We therefore ask patients and relatives to be reasonable and considerate when weighing the need for a visit.

At present the discretion to visit remains with the treating clinician. Although we sympathise with those who have limited transport, this is not a qualifying clinical reason for a visit.

Most common childhood ailments should be seen in the surgery and some problems can be dealt with over the telephone - although it is always useful to meet face to face.

On arrival if you feel unwell, please tell the receptionist who can let the doctor know and if necessary offer you a side room.

We are always willing to see the truly housebound and terminally ill at home

Requests for a visit should be made before 10:30, except in urgency.

We do not guarantee which clinician will visit and on making your request please anticipate a call back to clarify your needs.
