All 3 of our practices are very much STILL OPEN and available to patients who need us. Please don't be afraid to get in touch: use eConsult for non-urgent, minor ailments or call us on 01409 253692 (for Holsworthy and Hatherleigh patients) or 01288 352133 (for Stratton patients). One of the clinical team will then be able to get back to you and decide whether or not you need to be seen. Please do not come to the surgeries if you have a cough, high temperature or loss of taste or smell. Always ring first.
If you have been asked to attend an appointment with a doctor or a nurse, we will advise you how to proceed and whether to wait in your car or come to the front door.
We have and will continue to take steps to protect the health of our patients and staff, meaning we have substantially reduced the amount of patients attending the practice. Patients who ring in will be assessed clinically by phone first, to ensure we are only asking people to come in who need to do so.

FLU VACCINATION PROGRAMME 2020
The flu season will run very differently this year due to social distancing and current guidelines set out by Public Health England for all Medical Centres. You will be given a specific time for your appointment. It’s important you adhere to the timings or you may be turned away, to ensure we respect the safety of other patients and staff due to COVID-19.
If you are shielding we recommend you book into one of our early slots before 10.30am which have been reserved specifically for shielding patients. If you need to book at other times, you will be seen alongside non-shielding patients. However, social distancing rules will be applied at all times both in the building and outside. We are not able to see non-shielding patients until after 10.30 this year due to the increased risk to those who need to shield. Because of the requirement for social distancing and infection control we will not be offering flu clinics on any other days.
- Please ensure you wear a face covering to your appointment.
- Please cancel your appointment if you develop any COVID symptoms within the 14 days prior to your appointment.
The following patients are eligible and able to book in (this will be extended when we are informed about our vaccine supply dates for other ages and groups):
- Over 65s
- Pregnant ladies
- Carers (providing they are registered with us as a carer)
- Patients with chronic diseases
- Asthma patients using an inhaler currently
Dates are now available to book in:
Holsworthy & Stratton:
Over 65s – Saturday September 26th
Over 65s and Under 65s in eligible groups – Saturday October 10th
Under 65s in eligible groups – Saturday October 24th
Hatherleigh (at the Community Centre):
Over and under 65 in eligible groups – Saturday October 17th
Children's flu vaccinations will be provided at school for children aged 4-11. We will be running clinics for 2-3 year olds and those children aged 12-17 who fall into one of the at risk groups. We will be in touch with parents once we have received the vaccines.
In line with NHS guidance Patients aged 50-64 who do not fall into an at risk group will be invited in November once the over 65s and at risk patient vaccination programme has been completed. If you fall into this group you don't have to do anything yet.

INTRODUCING LIVI APP
RCMG now offers a video GP service – Livi – to all our patients.
To access the service, simply download Livi from the App Store
(iPhone) or Google Play (Android), and sign up. You can get medical
advice, prescriptions and referrals by video, with appointments
available on the same day, even at weekends.

Ruby Country Medical Group brings together Holsworthy Medical Centre, Stratton Medical Centre and Hatherleigh Medical Centre, serving Holsworthy and Stratton as well as surrounding villages. We see patients at three sites: Stratton Medical Centre, Holsworthy Medical Centre and Hatherleigh Medical Centre. Our team includes GPs, a Clinical Pharmacist, paramedics, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, health care assistants and phlebotomists as well as our practice management and administrative support and patient services teams. We also have access to two social prescribers and first responder physiotherapists employed by the local Primary Care Network.
We are responsible for advising patients on leading a healthy lifestyle, as well as caring for people needing medical care. We offer a full general practice service and run specialist clinics as indicated in this website. At two sites there is also an on-site, independently run, pharmacy. At Hatherleigh we have an integral dispensary.
At Ruby Country Medical Group we aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. We feel it is important that you know who you are speaking to, so our office staff wear a name badge and identify themselves on the telephone.
