All 3 of our practices are very much STILL OPEN and available to patients who need us. Please don't be afraid to get in touch: use eConsult, NHSApp or accuRx for non-urgent, minor ailments or call us on 01409 253692 (for Holsworthy and Hatherleigh patients) or 01288 352133 (for Stratton patients). One of the clinical team will then be able to get back to you and decide whether or not you need to be seen. Please do not come to the surgeries if you have a cough, high temperature or loss of taste or smell. Always ring first.
If you have been asked to attend an appointment with a doctor or a nurse, we will advise you how to proceed and whether to wait in your car or come to the front door.
We have and will continue to take steps to protect the health of our patients and staff, meaning we have substantially reduced the amount of patients attending the practice. Patients who ring in will be assessed clinically by phone first, to ensure we are only asking people to come in who need to do so.

COVID VACCINATION INFORMATION
We are delighted to inform our patients that we are running COVID Vaccination clinics.
When will I be vaccinated?
We are working our way through the JCVI Priority Groups, and are currently starting to book in groups 5-6. We will invite each priority group as we have more vaccine availability. For more information, please see the JCVI section below.
For further information about the vaccine follow the link:COVID VACCINATION GUIDE
Where will I be vaccinated?
The designated vaccination site for our PCN as agreed by NHS England, is Holsworthy Medical Centre
The team at Holsworthy are busy facilitating the vaccination service for the five practices of the Holsworthy, Bude & Surrounding Villages Coast Primary Care Network (Neetside, Stratton, Bradworthy, Hatherleigh & Holsworthy). We are working closely with our local practices and staff will be coming from all practices to support the programme.
How do I book?
We will be contacting all the eligible patients with details of how to book an appointment. PLEASE DO NOT CALL YOUR PRACTICE as they will not be able to book an appointment for you.
We are aware our previous invitation process was ineffective and are reviewing the process.
If you or a family member is eligible for a COVID vaccine please consider how you will travel to the practice (it is likely to be on a weekend). We are working to identify with local volunteer services should you require assistance, and we will be able to provide details at the time of booking.
JCVI Priority Group Progression
We are still trying to get hold of our last 80+ and 70+ year old patients and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable, alongside those in groups 5-6. The clinically extremely vulnerable group does not contain everyone with the listed conditions, only with those who are severe. This is decided at a national level, but most people who do not fall into CEV but have an underlying health condition will likely fall into group 6. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page at Ruby Country Medical Group for regular updates.
FLU VACCINATION PROGRAMME 2020/21
Our main Saturday vaccination clinics, for those in the usual qualifying groups, have all now happened. If you still haven't had your flu vaccination then please call us so we can advise on appointment availability.
The following patients are eligible and able to book in:
- Over 65s as usual, also 50-64s as part of the extended roll out.
- Pregnant ladies
- Carers (providing they are registered with us as a carer)
- Patients with chronic diseases
- Asthma patients using an inhaler currently
Children's flu vaccinations will be provided at school for children aged 4-11. We will be running clinics for 2-3 year-olds and those children aged 12-17 who fall into one of the at risk groups. We will be in touch with parents once we have received the vaccines.
If your child misses their jab at school or are home-schooled, then please call Virgin Health on 0300 247 0082 to be advised.

INTRODUCING LIVI APP
See a GP by video with Livi. Even at the weekend.
Patients of Stratton Medical Centre can now see an NHS GP by video using Livi. Get medical advice, prescriptions and referrals on the same day – both on weekday evenings and at weekends. The service is provided free on the NHS.
You can download the Livi app to your mobile phone or tablet, from the App Store or Google Play. Or visit livi.co.uk for more information. Livi GPs are all GMC-registered NHS GPS, who (with your prior consent given to your surgery) will be able to access your medical records and give you a considered, in-depth diagnosis based on your medical history.
This service is in addition to our regular GP sessions, and is available 7am-10pm on weekdays and 8am-4pm on weekends.

Ruby Country Medical Group brings together Holsworthy Medical Centre, Stratton Medical Centre and Hatherleigh Medical Centre, serving Holsworthy and Stratton as well as surrounding villages. We see patients at three sites: Stratton Medical Centre, Holsworthy Medical Centre and Hatherleigh Medical Centre. Our team includes GPs, a Clinical Pharmacist, paramedics, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, health care assistants and phlebotomists as well as our practice management and administrative support and patient services teams. We also have access to two social prescribers, first contact physiotherapists and a mental health practitioner employed by the local Primary Care Network.
We are responsible for advising patients on leading a healthy lifestyle, as well as caring for people needing medical care. We offer a full general practice service and run specialist clinics as indicated in this website. At two sites there is also an on-site, independently run, pharmacy. At Hatherleigh we have an integral dispensary.
At Ruby Country Medical Group we aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. We feel it is important that you know who you are speaking to, so our office staff wear a name badge and identify themselves on the telephone.
